This is a high-quality chasen (tea whisk) from Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture, made from white bamboo. It has approximately 60 bristles. Its distinctive slender handle makes it suitable for thick tea (koicha) as well. Before use, pass it through hot water to soften the bristles. After use, drain thoroughly and dry completely in a well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures/humidity. Using a chasen kusenaoshi (whisk shaper) will help maintain its beautiful shape for a long time.
