Matcha experience
In the Izumo and San'in regions, matcha is deeply ingrained in daily life. While elsewhere in Japan matcha is often associated with the strict rituals of the tea ceremony, here it is enjoyed casually by simply pouring hot water from a pot. We offer guests the opportunity to experience this everyday way of enjoying matcha, and for those interested, we also provide explanations about the procedures of the tea ceremony. We invite you to experience it for yourself.

Long-standing Store Association
Matsue was once home to Lord Matsudaira Fumai, the 7th lord of the Matsue Domain, who was a daimyo (feudal lord) and a master of the tea ceremony. The tea and wagashi (Japanese sweets) that Lord Fumai favored are still passed down by artisans in Matsue as celebrated tea and confectioneries. This is a tour for groups that allows you to enjoy the celebrated tea and wagashi (known as "Fumai-ko-konomi" or "Fumai's Favorites") that were beloved by this tea ceremony master lord.
