This is a white bamboo chasen (tea whisk) of the Fuma-ryu school of tea ceremony, founded by the daimyō tea master Matsudaira Fumai, the seventh lord of the Matsue domain. It is a Takayama chasen from Ikoma City, Nara Prefecture.After use, drain thoroughly and dry completely in a well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures and humidity. Using a chasen kusenaoshi (whisk shaper) will help maintain its beautiful shape for a long time.
