About the Bunko-style Lafcadio Coffee

Though Yakumo is famous for his ghost stories, his personality, life, and philosophies are still not widely known. In 2009 and 2014, Nakamura Chaho was invited by Bon Koizumi, the great-grandson of Koizumi Yakumo, to attend an international symposium on Koizumi Yakumo in Greece. In 2015, they finally held the "Open Mind of Lafcadio Hearn" project in his native Ireland, where they connected with local people through matcha tea experiences. Lafcadio Hearn, a literary giant born in Greece, raised in Ireland, and who eventually naturalized in Japan and changed his name to "Koizumi Yakumo," wandered through foreign lands and finally found peace for his soul in Japan. We hope that with each drop of this coffee, with its aroma and taste that connect people across borders and time, you can feel Yakumo's gaze. Through Yakumo's stories, ghost tales, and coffee, we hope to provide a moment to contemplate the individual, the literary giant Koizumi Yakumo.
